With the disintegration of Poland’s communist system a new episode has been developed. It was the year 1991 when the Irish Polish Society started building their contacts with Embassy of Republic of Poland in Dublin which was recently opened. The main idea behind the Irish Poland Society is to build up a common interest and comprehension between the communities of Ireland and Poland.
The main stress was given on the social and cultural fields and for the promotion, evaluation, interest encouragement, endorsement, and teaching. The main stress was also given in building knowledge about the history, culture, language, people and different traditions of Poland and the locals.
Different lectures, seminars, meetings, educational occasions, art exhibitions, and concerts are organized by the Irish Polish Society for the promotion of the lives of Irish and Polish people. The society was founded in the year 1979 and has played a major part in the promotion of various issues of Poland in Ireland. In the past years the Irish Polish Society has played a major role in providing Polish membership of EU. They are continuing the promotion of building a democratic Poland and also encourage the locals of Poland to Ireland.
